Roku’s services reach more than 100 million households worldwide, and the acquisition closed in under five months after a US Department of Justice review.

Steelman: both sides, in good faith
The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.
The case for
Supporters could argue that combining Fox’s content and advertising business with Roku’s large streaming reach creates a stronger competitor, giving viewers and advertisers a broader range of services and helping both companies invest and innovate. They may also see the deal’s completion after regulatory review as evidence that it can proceed within existing competition safeguards.
The case against
Critics could argue that joining a major media company with a platform reaching more than 100 million households concentrates control over both content and access to viewers. That could give Fox greater influence over what audiences see and how advertising is sold, while reducing competitive pressure on rival platforms and media providers.
