Weezer: Photos From the Billboard Cover Shoot

Weezer’s tightly scheduled “The Gathering Tour” pairs a theatrical homecoming concept with a carefully timed live set. The article’s photo feature offers a glimpse of how Rivers Cuomo switches from conserving energy backstage to leading the band before thousands of fans.

Before a Tampa show, Cuomo rested in a windowless room with books, headphones and instruments nearby, while drummer Patrick Wilson played guitar. The band’s set began at 9:12 p.m., following a video about a child wishing Weezer would play at his house; the stage was dressed to resemble that home, and the show was expected to end at 10:53 p.m. Weezer was also due to receive the Legend of Live award at the 2026 Billboard Live Music Summit on 10 November.
