How John Summit Is Turning Arenas Into the “World’s Biggest Nightclub” for CTRL ESCAPE Tour
John Summit has taken his first arena tour on the road, aiming to make a solo DJ set feel like a large-scale, immersive story rather than a conventional club or festival performance. The “CTRL ESCAPE” concept draws on his move from accountancy to music and gives audiences a themed escape from their own working week.
The four-act show moves from corporate control to escape, then to Summit’s Experts Only label, with the DJ performing among the crowd on a smaller B stage. Its office-inspired details include a computer-monitor-style mixing desk, cubicle-like structures, corporate-costumed dancers and 1,200 performance review papers dropped over the audience, alongside lasers, lighting, automation and practical effects. Summit says successful one-off arena shows in New York and Los Angeles gave him confidence to attempt the multi-country tour as its sole headliner.
In short
- John Summit is taking a story-led solo DJ set to arenas.
- The show turns office imagery into an immersive rave.
