Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Stock Remains Depleted, Retailers Pivot to In-Store Drops
The limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 celebrating The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary remains difficult to find, as retailers shift some sales to physical shops. In-store drops may help consoles reach buyers rather than scalper bots, while demand remains strong following the release of Ocarina of Time on Switch 2.
Pre-orders sold out quickly at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy after the console was revealed in summer, and online restocks have since been sporadic. Best Buy offered some consoles to walk-in customers during midnight openings, and Target said it would have in-store stock from 5 November; GameStop and Walmart may also be worth checking in person. Amazon and Nintendo still occasionally restock online, but availability can change quickly.
In short
- Zelda anniversary Switch 2 stock remains scarce.
- Retailers are offering some consoles in stores.
- Online restocks still appear occasionally.
