Horror as boy, 15, breaks into woman’s home and rapes her before burgling second house

A 15-year-old boy from London has been sentenced to more than seven years in custody after raping a woman in her Nuneaton home and then burgling another nearby property. The case matters because the court imposed reporting restrictions to protect the victim’s identity, and the police praised her bravery.

At Coventry Crown Court on 5 November, the teenager received a sentence of seven years and two months. He pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one count of burglary; a further burglary and theft of a motor vehicle were also taken into consideration.
