Former Disney character performer arrested in Florida child sex sting

Collin Klaco, a 24-year-old former Disney World character performer, was arrested in an undercover operation targeting suspected child sex offences in Polk County, Florida. He faces four felony charges, and the case is part of a wider investigation that led to hundreds of arrests.

Authorities say Klaco communicated with an undercover decoy he believed was 13 and allegedly discussed sexual activity involving children. He was released on bond under restrictions that bar him from contacting minors, using the internet or smart devices, and going within 500 feet of places children frequent. The county sheriff said 281 people were arrested in the operation; 239 faced human trafficking-related charges, 31 allegedly travelled to have sex with a child, and 17 were current or former theme park workers.
