Ed Boon Wants to Know What Fans Want the Next Mortal Kombat Game to Be Called

Ed Boon has asked fans what they would call the next Mortal Kombat game, offering Mortal Kombat 13, Mortal Kombat 12 and Mortal Kombat 2 as options. The poll has prompted discussion while players await news about the next instalment, which Boon confirmed was in development in May 2026.

In the poll, 43% of voters chose Mortal Kombat 2, compared with 33% for 13 and 23% for 12. Boon also asked fans to choose between Marvel Tokon 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 4, with most favouring the latter. NetherRealm has not announced its next game, and Boon said in September that reports of external playtesting for several titles were false, while noting that this did not rule out development.
