England ‘disappointment’ fuels Dewsbury-Hall’s Everton heroics
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall responded to being left out of England’s Nations League squad with a standout performance as Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1. His powerful goal helped secure a second successive Premier League win and lifted Everton to fifth, while the midfielder said representing England remains a major ambition.
Dewsbury-Hall, 28, said he was disappointed because he felt close to selection, and Thomas Tuchel confirmed he had been considered before choosing Jobe Bellingham. Since joining Everton from Chelsea in August 2025, Dewsbury-Hall has scored 11 Premier League goals and supplied seven assists. Thierno Barry scored twice in five second-half minutes, taking his season total to 10 goals in all competitions, behind only Erling Haaland’s 14 for Everton’s David Moyes.
