Compatible charger unlocks the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 60-watt charging speed
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra can charge at up to 60 watts, a first for the company’s phones, but Samsung does not include a charger in the box. The article says owners with older or lower-powered chargers may miss out on the faster charging, making a compatible charger a useful accessory.
The Ultra can reach about 75 per cent charge in 30 minutes when using Samsung’s Super Fast Charging 3.0. The base S26 remains at 25-watt wired charging but has a larger 4,300 mAh battery, up from 4,000 mAh in the S25. For wireless charging, the S26+ supports up to 20 watts and the Ultra up to 25 watts; taking advantage of the latter requires a compatible charging pad and magnetic case, as the phones lack built-in alignment magnets.
In short
- The S26 Ultra supports wired charging up to 60 watts.
- A compatible charger is needed to reach that speed.
- Wireless charging at 25 watts requires a pad and magnetic case.
