Pro-Palestine activists accused of intimidating cancer patients by handing out leaflets at NHS hospitals
Pro-Palestine campaign group Global Health for Palestine has been accused of intimidating patients by distributing political leaflets in NHS hospitals, including chemotherapy treatment rooms. The material criticises antisemitism training and urges patients and staff to show solidarity with Palestine; critics say such activity risks making vulnerable people feel unwelcome in healthcare settings.
Leaflets were reportedly found at several hospitals in recent weeks, including the Royal Free Hospital in north London. UK Lawyers for Israel director Caroline Turner said they could upset Jewish and Israeli patients and their families, while Lord Mann said NHS services should be free from hostility. A review published in June said Jewish staff and patients had been ostracised and recommended formal antisemitism training for managers; the Government accepted its recommendations. The group was approached for comment.
