USMNT forced to make big Nations League roster change as Gio Reyna goes down with injury
Gio Reyna has been withdrawn from the United States squad for the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final against Haiti after injuring his thigh playing for Strasbourg. His absence removes a player in strong recent form as the team prepares for the first leg next Saturday in Miami.
Stoke City midfielder Jack McGlynn replaces Reyna, marking the US squad’s second injury change in a few days after Mark McKenzie came in for George Campbell. Reyna had started regularly since joining Strasbourg and scored in Friday’s 3-1 defeat to Toulouse before going off after 70 minutes. McGlynn has 13 international caps and has scored in three consecutive games for Stoke.
In short
- Reyna misses the Haiti tie with a thigh injury.
- Jack McGlynn replaces him in the squad.
- It is the US team’s second recent injury change.
