Missing Teen Saved From Alleged Kidnapper After Seeking Help in Among Us
A 17-year-old Utah teenager was rescued from an Oregon home after another child she met in Among Us alerted their mother, who contacted the FBI. The case shows how access to an online game helped the teenager seek help when she could not use ordinary phone services.
The teenager had been reported missing at 15 in May 2025. Authorities say Adam Harmel, 39, lured her to Oregon and held her for 521 days; she eventually used a phone with Wi-Fi but no mobile service to contact the other player. After speaking with investigators on a video call, she was rescued on 1 November 2026, and Harmel was arrested and charged with transporting her across state lines with intent to exploit her.
