Death toll from air strikes near Yemeni capital rises to 33, Houthis say
The Houthis say at least 33 people were killed and 39 wounded in Saturday’s air strikes on a village near Sanaa, in one of the deadliest reported attacks since fighting with Saudi Arabia resumed in July. Their news agency blamed Saudi Arabia, but Riyadh has not claimed responsibility.
The Houthi-run health ministry said homes in Bani Hushaysh, east of Sanaa, were hit and that most of the dead were women and children. A hospital director said people, including first responders, remained trapped under rubble, and that rescuers and medical staff had also been struck; some wounded people were in critical condition.
