Simple Plan Are Meeting a Whole New Generation of Fans, 25 Years In
Simple Plan are drawing a new generation of fans 25 years into their career, with drummer Chuck Comeau saying some shows see as many as 85% of the audience attending for the first time. The renewed interest, driven in part by a TikTok trend using “I’m Just a Kid”, is bringing younger listeners together with original fans and their children.
The Montreal band will play Australia’s Good Things Festival in December, alongside acts including Limp Bizkit, Spiritbox and Bad Religion. They are also writing their seventh studio album, following 2022’s Harder Than It Looks, and plan to take their time refining their established sound; next year marks 25 years since their debut album.
