SC dad left sleeping daughter, 6, outside Target at 1 a.m. to save his spot in line for Pokémon cards: cops
A South Carolina father was arrested after police say he left his six-year-old daughter sleeping outside a Charleston Target at about 1 a.m. while he went home. Police said he did so to keep his place in a queue for a new Pokémon card release, leaving the child alone for more than an hour.
Concerned people in the queue called police at about 2.30 a.m., and officers arrested John-Michael Dooley, 35, after he returned. He was charged with unlawful conduct towards a child, with bond set at $40,000, and is due back in court on 12 December. The child was unharmed and placed in emergency protective custody; the card collections released that Friday, with packs starting at about $5.
