Kellie DeMarco has addressed the viral moment in which her husband was ejected from an NBA game after returning the ball to a referee with too much force. She said he meant no harm, feels bad about how the pass appeared and respects the officials.

The incident came in the third quarter after a blocked shot sent the ball into DeMarco’s husband’s lap. A former college basketball player, he passed it back to the referee; Luka Dončić questioned the force of the pass, and the fan was escorted from the court with 2:35 left in the quarter. DeMarco thanked people for their kind messages and said the couple support the Kings.
