Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?
Troy Deeney has named his Premier League team and manager of the week, praising players for decisive performances across the latest round of matches. His choices reflect a weekend of standout saves, defensive work and goals, including Liam Delap’s display against his former club Manchester City.
The 11 players are Bernd Leno, Ronald Araujo, Jair Cunha, Tarik Muharemovic, Nordi Mukiele, Leon Goretzka, Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Le Fee, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Thierno Barry and Delap. Deeney selected Mikel Arteta as manager, saying Arsenal had won the league, although his claim that the season was over in November was part of his commentary.
In short
- Deeney selected 11 players for his Premier League team of the week.
- Delap scored twice against former club Manchester City.
- Mikel Arteta was named manager of the week.
Explained simply
The Premier League is England’s top men’s football division, where clubs play each other across a season. A team of the week is an informal selection of players judged to have performed especially well in a recent round of matches; it is not an official league award.
Troy Deeney is a former Premier League striker who now comments on football. His selection names players from several clubs, while Mikel Arteta is Arsenal’s manager. These picks reflect Deeney’s view of individual performances and do not determine league results or standings.
