Xbox Game Pass loses Dungeons of Hinterberg and 9 other games this month
Xbox has confirmed that 10 games will leave its Game Pass subscription service on 15 July 2026, including the well-regarded action title Dungeons of Hinterberg. The news lands during a difficult period for Xbox, which announced its "most significant restructure" this week alongside plans to lay off 3,200 employees by July 2027, making the loss of several popular games particularly awkward timing.
The departing titles include Dungeons of Hinterberg, EA Sports FC 24, Stellaris, Golf With Your Friends, Powerwash Simulator and Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, among others. To offset the losses, Xbox is adding several games across the first half of July, headlined by Gears of War: Reloaded (now on Game Pass Premium) and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. The context is a struggling subscriber base: Game Pass reportedly sits at around 30 million users, down from 34 million in February 2024 and far below the 77 million Xbox had projected to reach by July 2026.
