The video game Marvel Rivals is introducing the iconic X-Men villain Apocalypse in its next season, titled The Mystery of Thebes, which launches on 10 July 2026. An official trailer has been released placing Apocalypse at the centre of the new season, capitalising on the character's renewed popularity as he also serves as the main antagonist of the recently returned animated series X-Men '97.

The new season additionally brings the characters Jubilee and The Hood to the game, allowing players to take on Apocalypse, described as the first and deadliest mutant in history. The release forms part of a busy period for Marvel, which includes the second season of X-Men '97 (now set to return annually from Season 3), Spider-Man: Brand New Day on 31 July, and Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December.
