The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked launch is happening on July 22
Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on 22 July in London, where it is expected to expand its range of foldable phones. The event matters because it underlines Samsung's continued push to dominate the foldable market while rivals such as Apple have yet to release a foldable handset.
Samsung has said only that it will unveil the latest Galaxy innovations building on its foldable leadership, but rumours point to two or three new phones plus possible Galaxy Watch updates. A Galaxy Z Flip 8 with a reworked hinge and improved performance is widely anticipated, though a global RAM shortage may limit major upgrades. Most notably, Samsung is expected to launch two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 — a standard model with a wider main display but possibly only two rear cameras, and a top-tier Z Fold 8 Ultra with a less visible crease, an updated processor and three cameras. The Galaxy Watch 9, Watch Ultra 2 and Android XR glasses could also appear. Samsung is offering a $30 credit to those who reserve ahead of the event, which streams at 9am ET on 22 July.
