British Olympic shooter Amber Rutter has claimed bronze at an international shooting competition in Italy, marking her competitive return following the birth of her second child. The 28-year-old, who previously competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics, finished third in the women's shotgun event at the ISSF World Cup in Lonato, finishing behind gold and silver medalists who both set world records in the federation's new 36-target finals format.

Rutter's achievement comes approximately nine months after giving birth in October and shortly after representing Team GB at the Paris Olympics, where she secured silver in the skeet final. In her post-competition remarks, Rutter acknowledged the physical and psychological demands of returning to elite competition whilst managing parenthood, highlighting the intensity of three consecutive days of shooting in high temperatures whilst balancing her responsibilities at home.
