Law enforcement in Charles County, Maryland arrested a 57-year-old landlord after responding to reports of an assault in which he allegedly threatened tenants with a firearm. The incident unfolded at a property on Penjack Place in Waldorf on July 3.

During the arrest, authorities discovered an unusual collection of animals on the property alongside a significant cache of weapons. The seized items included six handguns and an exotic menagerie comprising an alligator, caiman, snake and emu. The Charles County Sheriff's Office did not immediately clarify the circumstances surrounding the animal collection or its relevance to the assault investigation.
