Poppy Reynolds, a 22-year-old suicide prevention campaigner from Bundaberg in Queensland, has died, four years after her older brother Harry took his own life in 2022. Her death matters because she had become a passionate advocate and fundraiser for mental health charities following her brother's loss, making her passing a stark illustration of how grief and mental ill-health can affect those working to support others.

Her family paid tribute at an emotional funeral held on Friday. Her mother, Natalie Vizer, described her as a selfless, upbeat young woman who masked her own mental struggles, saying "her tough resilience just couldn't show up one more time." Ms Reynolds, who worked as a civil plant operator, was also remembered by her sisters Grace, Euleilah and her father Bruce, who told his three surviving children they were "not allowed" to have another funeral.
