Ida Wobker, a 15-year-old German player, was disqualified from the Wimbledon junior women's singles tournament after throwing her racket in frustration, causing it to bounce into the spectator stands. The All England Club confirmed the decision, underlining that dangerous displays of temper will not be tolerated even at junior level.

The incident occurred during the first-round match against Romania's Maria Valentina Pop, who had won the opening set 6-0. With the second set level at 5-5, Wobker hit a backhand out of play and threw her racket, which flew into the lower levels of the crowd, though it is unclear whether anyone was struck. She quickly apologised, but officials paused the match, issued a code violation and awarded Pop passage to the next round, where Pop later lost to Daniella Britton. Wobker, who had committed 11 double faults, played down the episode on Instagram, writing that "s— happens, you learn from it". Under International Tennis Federation rules, players must not violently or angrily hit, kick or throw a racket during a tournament.
