Pure Flix Founder Michael Scott Teams With ‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Willie and Korie Robertson on Faith-Based Company EKKL Entertainment (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety · 2 months ago

Michael Scott, the co-founder and former chief executive of faith-based film distributor Pure Flix, has partnered with "Duck Dynasty" stars Willie and Korie Robertson to launch EKKL Entertainment, a new faith-and-family entertainment platform. The venture aims to bring together films, series, podcasts, daily devotionals, community, commerce and travel in a single connected destination, targeting Christian and family audiences. The launch reflects a continued push to build dedicated homes for faith-based content across theatrical, streaming and digital formats.

EKKL — pronounced "EK-UHL" and named after the Greek word ekklesia — officially launched on 8 July 2026, with podcaster and digital media figure Zach Dasher also joining as a partner. The company plans to release three films theatrically in 2026 and seven to 10 annually thereafter, with upcoming titles including "Elijah Peel" (14 August 2026) and "Daniel and The Fiery Furnace" (18 September 2026), starring Mena Massoud. It will also offer a streaming library of 350 films and series, including the 2014 hit "God's Not Dead", and a podcast line-up said to generate more than 125 million annual downloads and reach over 30 million social media followers. Scott previously helped Pure Flix generate more than $200 million at the global box office.
