The final season of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" secured nine Emmy nominations, the most the programme has received since Colbert took over as host. The recognition is notable because it comes after CBS announced last year that it would cancel the show, which the network attributed to financial reasons, making this awards haul a high point for the series just as it draws to a close.

Alongside a nod for Outstanding Variety Series, the show was nominated in categories including writing, directing, production design, technical direction and camerawork, lighting, sound mixing, picture editing and music direction. The tally beats its previous best of five nominations in 2024, and also surpasses the five it earned in both 2021 and 2022. Over Colbert's 11-year tenure the programme has drawn more than 40 nominations but only two wins, both in 2025, months after the cancellation was announced. CBS pointed to an Instagram post congratulating the series, and the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are due to air on 14 September.
