Digimon Story Time Stranger Free Update Releasing Alongside Switch Versions
Bandai Namco is deploying a substantial free update for Digimon Story Time Stranger coinciding with the game's launch on Nintendo Switch platforms. The patch introduces Terriermon Assistant as a supplementary playable character obtainable through transformation mechanics, adds a Photo Mode for field exploration, creates a dedicated Digivolution Conditions interface, and includes graphics configuration options. The update also eliminates a technical fault affecting Digifarm progression when accumulated playtime approaches maximum limits and resolves a story mission where advancement would halt under specific circumstances.
The Switch 2 edition will offer dual graphics profiles providing either Performance Mode at 60 frames per second in full resolution or Quality Mode at 30 frames per second supporting 4K resolution alongside HDR technology—capabilities unavailable on the original Switch, Xbox Series S, and Steam versions. A demo had previously launched on the Nintendo eShop, and the publisher has signalled plans for substantial additional paid content arriving in 2027.
