Bandai Namco has released a six-minute gameplay deep dive for Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3, walking through the flow and structure of a single mission. The footage suggests the long-awaited sequel is a clear step up from XenoVerse 2, with notable improvements in both graphics and animation, which matters to fans who have waited years for a follow-up.

The demo follows two player-created characters — a male Saiyan and a female human — and highlights how movesets and abilities differ between races. It also showcases two special abilities: Soul Switch, which lets players temporarily swap in an existing Dragon Ball character to use their stronger attacks, and Awakening, a race-based transformation that sees the Saiyan example go Super Saiyan. The game still has no firm release date and is only confirmed for 2027, and early community reaction has been mixed, with some praising the visuals and others criticising mechanics such as ability cooldowns and Soul Switch.
