As a farewell gesture, the developer has distributed an exclusive emblem called Gloriabundus to all players at no cost. The emblem depicts the iconic Destiny symbol alongside a cityscape illuminated by golden light, serving as a symbolic farewell to one of the most significant online shooters in gaming history.

While active development has ended, Bungie's leadership has assured the community that Destiny 2 will not be abandoned entirely. The studio intends to continue essential server maintenance and will prioritize fixing critical issues such as game crashes, with the possibility of minor improvements being incorporated during maintenance windows. Despite speculation from some players that Sony might reconsider the shutdown, particularly following increased Steam player activity after the announcement, such a reversal appears highly improbable.
