US television host Megyn Kelly has suggested that Lance Twiggs, the transgender partner and former roommate of murder suspect Tyler Robinson, may have severely undermined Robinson's defence after Twiggs' police interview was played at a pretrial hearing on Thursday. Robinson, 23, is accused of shooting and killing conservative influencer Charlie Kirk in September 2025 at Utah Valley University. Speaking on her SiriusXM show, Kelly said the video evidence could mark the end of Robinson's claims of innocence, describing it as "helpful" to the prosecution's case.

According to the reported evidence, Robinson texted Twiggs on the day of the killing that his grandfather's hunting rifle had worked "just fine", and later directed him to a note hidden under a computer keyboard which prosecutors say read: "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it." Twiggs told police that Robinson returned to their shared apartment after the shooting and admitted he "wished he hadn't done it", and claimed Robinson had "had enough of [Kirk's] hatred". Kelly nonetheless described Twiggs as "a hot mess" and cautioned that his testimony might not resolve key questions about the case.
