Donald Trump Jr has said that unsealed evidence presented at the preliminary hearing of Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk, puts to rest the "conspiracy theories" that had surrounded Kirk's death. Speaking on "Jesse Watters Primetime" after attending the hearing in Provo, Utah, Trump Jr — a longtime friend of Kirk — said it was "very clear" to him that Robinson was responsible, describing the case as "cut-and-dry" while acknowledging why some people had been sceptical.

Robinson, 23, is accused of fatally shooting Kirk, 31, at Utah Valley University on 10 September 2025, and could face the death penalty if convicted. The preliminary hearing, at which prosecutors sought to establish probable cause to send the case to trial, began on the Monday of that week. According to testimony, Robinson allegedly admitted to the killing in unsealed text messages to his roommate, saying he "had enough of his hatred", while DNA evidence from both Robinson and his former roommate Lance Twiggs was reportedly found on key evidence. Trump Jr pointed to the DNA findings and the fact that Robinson turned himself in, and also questioned the lack of security at Kirk's university event.
