NVIDIA has unveiled a set of "GeForce Trading Cards" celebrating what it calls the great moments of GeForce PC gaming, launching them at a point when many gamers have grown frustrated with the company. That frustration stems from NVIDIA increasingly prioritising its AI and data-centre customers, a shift that has contributed to widespread memory shortages, with the firm reportedly not expected to release its next range of consumer gaming GPUs until 2027. The timing has drawn attention because the promotional gesture arrives while the company's core gaming audience feels sidelined.

The cards are not being sold but given away, functioning as promotional items rather than purchasable collectibles. There are 14 possible designs in this "series 1" set, distributed through NVIDIA's "Summer of RTX" giveaways on GeForce social channels and at events including Bilibili World 2026, QuakeCon 2026 and gamescom 2026, where attendees can enquire at the company's booths. Designs feature milestones such as the NV1, NVIDIA's first mainstream multimedia processor, and the GeForce 256, described as the world's first GPU, and the "series 1" label suggests further sets may follow.
