Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds announce Resident record shop takeover to celebrate huge Brighton homecoming show

NME · 5 hours ago

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced a series of activities at Brighton's independent record shop Resident, staged around their forthcoming homecoming concert at the city's Preston Park on Friday 31 July 2026. The takeover marks the band's UK-exclusive show on their current UK and European tour, with Cave describing the occasion as a "homecoming" and promising an "epic show". The events give fans in Cave's adopted home city additional ways to engage with the band beyond the gig itself.

The Resident pop-up will run from Thursday 30 July to Sunday 2 August, offering a merchandise range designed specially for the Preston Park date, an exclusive Resident tote bag, classic Bad Seeds and Cave Things items, a limited-edition vinyl release, catalogue discounts, giveaways and a post box for letters to Cave's Red Hand Files. Across the same weekend, Cave will curate five films that have shaped his songwriting at the Duke of York's Picturehouse, each with a recorded introduction. The Preston Park show, supported by The Flaming Lips, English Teacher, Cate Le Bon and Warmduscher, comes in support of the band's 2024 album 'Wild God', amid a busy summer of European festival dates and talk of a possible follow-up record.
