The season 28 premiere of the CBS reality show Big Brother, broadcast on 9 July 2026, featured a deliberately outlandish opening in which returning fan-favourite Rachel Reilly was written out of the game by being chased into an erupting volcano by a velociraptor. The stunt prompted BuzzFeed Canada to brand the programme "the most embarrassing show on TV right now", which in turn drew a sharp public defence from former contestant Frankie Grande, who insisted that "camp is part of its DNA and charm". This year's series carries a time-travel theme, and the premiere sent its 14 new houseguests back to the "Jurassic Period", with the backyard transformed into a jungle and the cast dressed in leopard-print outfits.
