David Zaslav Selling $59.5M In WBD Shares
Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav is selling roughly $59.5 million (about £47 million) in company shares, continuing a pattern of cashing in on WBD's stock rebound. The sale, disclosed in a Monday SEC filing, came just hours after 12 US states filed an antitrust lawsuit seeking to block Paramount's $110 billion (£87 billion) takeover of WBD, adding fresh scrutiny to executives' financial moves amid the pending deal.
The filing covers nearly 2.2 million shares. WBD stock has fallen 6% in 2026 so far, closing Monday at $27.09, but has more than doubled since acquisition interest first emerged last autumn, when Netflix, Comcast and Paramount competed for the company before Paramount prevailed. This latest sale follows one in March, when Zaslav offloaded about 4 million shares for over $114 million, and Zaslav's total pay-out tied to the merger's completion could reach nearly $800 million, mostly in stock. Other senior executives, including CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels and streaming chief JB Perrette, have also sold shares to capitalise on the rally.
