Lee's storyline carries particular weight given her health struggles—she was diagnosed with a chronic kidney condition in 2023 that put her career in jeopardy, just years after winning all-around gold at the Tokyo Olympics. Rather than stepping away, she returned to competition at the 2024 Paris Games, where she earned multiple bronze medals and contributed to a team gold medal. The documentary, directed by Anna Chai, captures this period of determination as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics approach.
