Twin Temple, a Los Angeles duo blending vintage pop aesthetics with Satanic-themed lyrics, announced their next full-length album at a moment of heightened visibility. Their profile rose after country artist Charley Crockett cancelled their opening slots on his tour due to their imagery, prompting Jack White to extend a competing offer to perform at his venue, generating widespread coverage.

The new record was produced by Shooter Jennings at Sunset Sound studios using analog equipment, a 37-piece orchestra, and session musicians. According to the band, the album's title track serves as its philosophical centrepiece, examining consuming romantic attachment and the refusal of conventional closure, particularly regarding love that transcends death itself.
