Final Fantasy Resonance Gets A Stunning New Trailer Ahead Of Switch 1 & 2 Launch
Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, a fresh HD-2D turn-based instalment coming to Switch 1 and Switch 2, following the game's initial announcement in June. The trailer showcases the title's art style, which mirrors the visual quality of earlier Square Enix HD-2D releases, and offers a closer look at the story and characters ahead of its October launch.
The game centres on Rain, commander of Grandshelt's airship squadron, who investigates a weakening magical barrier alongside his childhood friend Lasswell, only to encounter a mysterious armoured villain known as Veritas of the Dark. Gameplay features a strategic battle system, voiced cutscenes, Chocobo and airship travel, and "Visions" that let players recruit echoes of classic Final Fantasy characters. Final Fantasy Resonance releases on 22nd October 2026, with pre-orders now open; the Switch 2 version will be a Game-Key Card release, while Switch 1 gets a full physical cartridge.
