London-based rock band Keo has unveiled 'Pistol', a track from their forthcoming debut album 'Put A Smile On For Me', arriving 25 September via Island Records. The song develops from a delicate acoustic guitar introduction into a sweeping, full-band arrangement, centring on how experiences and people from our past retain their influence long after they've departed. Frontman Finn Keogh drew the creative concept from the astronomical phenomenon of light from dead stars reaching Earth years after their extinction, using this as a metaphor for how individuals continue affecting us through memory.

The album was self-produced by Keogh and guitarist Jimmy Lanwern during a compressed 10-day recording window. Stylistically, the project channels influences from alternative rock forebears such as Soundgarden and Radiohead whilst carving out the band's own sonic identity across 11 songs. Having recently supported Wolf Alice at prominent London and Newcastle shows, Keo will play major UK festivals throughout summer before launching a completely sold-out headline tour in autumn, featuring dates in Southampton, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool and London's O2 Forum Kentish Town.
