Roguelike bullet heaven Divine Comedy but with anime girls Hell Maiden is out today in early access
Hell Maiden, a "bullet heaven" roguelike that reimagines Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy with an all-anime-girl cast, has launched into early access today on Steam. The game casts Dante as an amnesiac heroine who must fight her way back up through Hell towards Paradiso, encountering the poets of limbo along the way, each of whom shapes the player's build and playstyle.
Mechanically, it blends Vampire Survivors-style horde-clearing and automatic attack-building with deckbuilding elements, alongside a Hades-like structure of repeated runs and death-driven progression. The early access version currently includes only the first two circles of Hell, four poets of limbo, two bosses and one mid-boss, with further story chapters, poets, weapons and bosses planned across future updates over a roughly year-long early access period; the price is expected to rise at full 1.0 release, and the game currently costs around £10.
