Tinashe has officially announced her fifth studio album, Popstar, due for release on 25 September via Atlantic Records. The announcement follows the release of last month's single "Too Easy" and is accompanied by a new track, "Crash Out," continuing the singer's steady stream of output since her breakthrough era.

The new single "Crash Out" features a crunk-inflected sound, with Tinashe sing-rapping lyrics such as "The American dream is outdated, now they sitting on the internet hating." Popstar will be her first full-length album since 333 in 2021, following two shorter projects in the interim: 2023's BB/Ang3l and 2024's Quantum Baby, the latter of which included the single "Nasty."
