Montreal musician No Joy has released a new track, "Barking At The Sun," made in collaboration with experimental Chicago producer Fire-Toolz. The song serves as the opening track for the upcoming three-song EP Big Life, Big Leaf, marking the pair's latest collaboration following their work together on No Joy's acclaimed 2025 album Bugland.

The new track is described as dreamy and euphoric, featuring Fire-Toolz's distinctive experimental flourishes such as DJ scratches and double-bass effects layered over No Joy's fuzz-pop sound. No Joy said the song was inspired by driving through open cornfields and watching a solar eclipse, and revealed it was built from an old demo using a Drop C guitar tuning before being reshaped by Fire-Toolz. The accompanying video was directed by Jeremy Dabrowski, and the Big Life, Big Leaf EP is due for release on 21 August via Hand Drawn Dracula.
