William Shatner’s metal band making its live debut at Riot Fest
William Shatner will make his live heavy-metal debut with his new band, The *Uckers, at Riot Fest in Chicago. The appearance is notable because it brings the 95-year-old Star Trek actor’s long-running musical career into a major alternative-music festival setting and coincides with a forthcoming metal album.
The band is scheduled to perform on Sunday, 20 September, during Riot Fest’s 18–20 September run at Douglass Park. Its line-up includes guitarists Marcus Nand and Britt Lightning, bassist Phil Soussan and drummer Fred Aching; the set is expected to reinterpret songs from Shatner’s catalogue while previewing new material.
