Tyler Perry Studios has agreed a multi-year partnership with Synapse Virtual Production to create a virtual production soundstage at its Atlanta campus, due to open by the end of 2026. The move reflects the growing use of LED screens and real-time digital environments in film and television, while Perry says the technology will be introduced without displacing production crews.

An existing stage on the 365-acre site will be converted to use LED volume technology, advanced camera tracking and tools including Unreal Engine. The facility will serve films, television, commercials, music videos and digital projects, and will also be available to outside productions as part of efforts to attract work back to Atlanta; Perry’s separate $800 million expansion plan remains paused amid concerns about AI’s effects on jobs.
