Gracie Abrams has previewed early voice-note recordings from two unreleased songs on her forthcoming third album, Daughter From Hell, during a Billboard interview. The snippets show how the songs developed from rough melodies and piano ideas, while also building anticipation for an album that follows the successful The Secret of Us.

One previewed track, “Sober”, was originally built around a melody Abrams later removed; she described the finished song as a yearning piece with echoes of her debut album, Good Riddance. The other, “Mews”, is a ballad inspired by the London studio where it was recorded, features strings from the Macedonian Orchestra and explores a higher vocal range for Abrams; the 16-track album had already spawned the top-40 single “Hit the Wall” and “Look at My Life”.
