Rosalía, Balletcore and Sneakerinas’ Latest Fashion Revival
Rosalía’s recent ballet-inspired outfits are being linked to a renewed interest in balletcore fashion and “sneakerinas”, hybrid shoes combining trainer comfort with ballet-flat styling. The trend matters because it reflects a wider shift towards more practical, versatile versions of traditionally delicate fashion looks.
JD Sports said Spanish Google searches for Adidas’ Taekwondo Mei rose 252% in the past month, while demand for the shoe on its site increased 275%; global searches for “balletcore” rose 154%. The style had already been gaining momentum, with Lyst data cited in 2025 showing a 1,300% rise in searches for “ballet sneakers”, and brands including Puma, Louis Vuitton and Vivaia have since released similar designs.
- Rosalía is helping revive balletcore fashion this summer.
- Sneakerina demand and related searches have risen sharply.
