Roblox will offer AI-generated game creation on mobile later this year

Engadget · 2 months ago

Roblox plans to introduce an AI-powered creation feature called Build on mobile devices later this year, allowing players to make interactive games and experiences from natural-language prompts. The move would extend Roblox’s user-generated content tools to smartphones and tablets for the first time, potentially making game creation more accessible to its large mobile audience.

Build combines open-source and proprietary AI models and will enter public alpha testing in New Zealand on 28 July, before expanding to other regions in subsequent months. Users must be at least nine to use the tools, while published creations that pass safety checks will be available globally to users aged 16 and over; the rollout follows recent criticism of Roblox’s age-verification systems.
