L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and is receiving extensive medical care following multiple surgeries and serious complications. The diagnosis means she cannot join the band’s forthcoming US dates on its Last Hurrah Tour, although L7 says it will continue at her request, making the news significant for both the group and its fans.

Finch, 59, has performed with L7 and other groups during a music career spanning several decades. L7 has launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund her rehabilitation and professional in-home support; it had raised more than $299,000 towards a $350,000 target, with some donations reaching $10,000.
