Hazardous air quality from wildfires spreading across the northeastern United States and southern Canada has forced a string of musical performers to abandon their scheduled concerts. Following guidance from public health authorities, artists determined that proceeding with performances would expose audience members, musicians, and venue personnel to unsafe atmospheric conditions.

Performers including The Black Keys, John Mellencamp, Mavis Staples, War and Treaty, and Creed postponed or cancelled their mid-July shows, with performances rescheduled to dates throughout September and October. Venues committed to honouring original tickets and processing automatic refunds for those who purchased through major vendors, whilst several artists publicly acknowledged the crisis and thanked the first responders engaged in firefighting efforts.
