Irish singer-songwriter CMAT has said she will not perform live or undertake recording work in 2027, citing the strain of six years of near-continuous touring and album-making. The break matters because it pauses a busy period in her career following major shows and critical recognition for her third album, ‘Euro-Country’.

CMAT said she feels close to burnout and that previous breaks of three or four months were spent making new records rather than resting. She has a month off in October 2026, while her remaining 2026 dates include festivals such as Electric Picnic and Primavera Sound São Paulo; her final scheduled show is in São Paulo in December. ‘Euro-Country’ won Best Album at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards, was shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize, and CMAT received a 2026 BRIT Awards nomination.
